How To Remove Spam Comments Once And For All
Spam comments are everywhere. When you wrote delicious blog posts, or SEO Optimized posts on your blog, you’re bound to attract spam comments (like those ants) to your posts. If your blog becomes more popular and rise in Alexa rankings, your spam comments increase.
Spammers use robots or some machines to find popular blogs to spam their comments, hoping to gain exposure for their ‘viagra pills’ or ‘You Won A Price!” links. If they found you, means your blog is popular. But if too many of them land at your blog, they will slow down your blog.
You may have heard of a plugin called Akismet which help you filter out spam comments, or delay comments for your approval. But still, these unwanted comments chocked up your spam folder, and waits for you to clear them everyday… irritating yea?
But now, you can remove spam comments once and for all!
To be exact, you BLOCK all spam comments into your blog! Not even in your spam folder.
Use this plugin called GASP, or Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin.
You might have seen this feature in some popular blogs already.
“Confirm you are not a spammer” appear just below your comment box.
The person commenting need to tick the box manually, to prove he’s a real person. (Spambots or machines don’t click manually, that’s why they will be blocked!)
Go install it now if you haven’t. Just go to your WordPress back office and search for the plugin GASP. It’s free.
After that, logged out of your wordpress and go to your blog and see if the feature is there. (You won’t see it if you are logged into your blog.)
I just installed the plugin the previous day, and for the First Time, I have ZERO spam comments in my spam folder… for 1 whole day! Usually, i get at least 50 stupid comments waiting everyday for me to clear them.
